Happy Birthday "America" (it's good to be HOME)

Happy Birthday AMERICA
The Frederick Family has proudly served outside the CONUS since 1993, but it is good to be back on American soil
(at least for the next 3 years)

Is this not a fun card or what? I wish I could capture all of the cool elements and do them justice. First off this would fit the ABC Toys & Crafts " Red, White & Blue " challenge ----> HERE <---- (does not have to be patriotic).
Second, my Uncle Sam image was a free image given out by "Vintage Image Crafts" over on their FaceBook page. during their "PATRIOTIC CHALLENGE". Originally it said "Army" but NO WAY I was putting that on my project, so I generated the "N A V Y" using the computer. The little bronze starz are from my husbands uniform ribbons! The Star in the center of Uncle Sam's hat is filled with glitter.
This is an easel card but the inside sentiment (which I generated using the computer) reads " Home is where the NAVY sends us". I then listed all of the places that we have been stationed in order. Stay Tuned for their next challenge "CHRISTMAS in JULY".

On a personal note, thank you to everyone for remembering to visit and leave comments while my family has been transitioning from Sicily, Italy back to the United States. We have made it to our new home in FL, however, we are lining in our house with nothing but what we had in our suitcases, mattresses on the floor, 2 chairs, a couple of pans and plates. My stamps, papers, Copics and a few other bare essentials did make it via USPS so I hope to burn a teeny bit of creative energy while I wait to start fluffing up my new nest.

CHALLENGES I USED:
ABC Toys & Crafts: Red, White & Blue (I'm not participating but I think you should, there are stamps up for grabs)
Pile It On: Favorite Things (I used lots of my favorite things on this card)
Shirley's 2 Girls: Summertime w/ a "Twist" to use sparkles (you can't have summer w/out a big ole' 4th of July celebration & I used glitter on Uncle Sam's hat)
