Bookmark Card TUTORIAL

Very sad that this will be my last post as the Charter Guest Designer for Paper Maniac so I thought I would create a fun project using stamps from my favorite stamp company, SHIRLEY'S 2 GIRLS. Before I go any further, you absolutely have to go check out the fun INTERVIEW that Paper Maniac gave me... I am telling you this has been such a generous and inviting company and I was tickled to death that get to know them so much better.
Recognize this mischievous cat?? Yes he is the guy I used for my TWISTED THURSDAY Post Yesterday. This is the "Like A Book" stamp set one of Shirley's 2 Girls newest stamps and is NOW AVAILABLE at PAPER MANIAC. I started out with a 12"x 6 1/2" piece of textured Bazzill Cardstock, Scored at 4 1/2", Turned the cardstock around to the other end and Scored at 3".

After I made the 3" Score, I then used a Sewing tool called a Tracing Tool (used to mark patterns onto your fabric). I don't have a Scor-Pal so I used the Groove that the blade on my cutter runs up and down. Works Perfectly! Anyhow, pressing down firmly, run the tracing tool directly over the 3" Score, I ran mine through twice so that my recipient will be able to remove the BOOKMARK easily without tearing.

So So simple and yet just another fun way to PRESENT something as simple as a BOOKMARK. I am adding another photo of some of the products that I used and you can also see a little bit of my Paper Piecing in various stages. I don't always stamp the entire image but when I do, it makes it easier for me to make several of the same project that coordinate but no two are exactly alike since I am using different parts of each image and several differnt papers. This particular CosmoCricket Patterned Paper is so amazing that I may end up having to purchase another pad of it.
I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE THOUGHT OF PAPER MANIAC.

Love Beyond Measure & a New Challenge

It's Hump Day
let's Celebrate
with
a Challenge from
Paper Maniac
Who isn't on the constant lookout for new and exciting challenges? The Design Team of Paper Maniac has moved their Challenges and you can find it HERE.... This week's theme is to use the sketch provided, use black & white with just a Splash of COLOR. Can you still see the sketch in my project or was I a tad bit too Rebellious? I can't help it, this is how MY BRAIN INTERPRETS the sketch to. I will admit, that I am having issues not being able to have incorporated my beloved Ribbon and I didn't Color (Gasp). Go back and take a look at last week's Ferris Wheel project. Does the sketch look familiar? It should, after completing my project, I realized that I had jumped the gun by a whole week. SHHHHHH Maybe no-one noticed and thank Goodness I didn't call attention to it.
Once again I have reached for the 100% Happy stamp set by Unity. This stamp set is a Retail Store Exclusive, which means, it is NOT available at Unity. You can pick it up at Paper Maniac. I used the Inksentials White Gel pen to outline the word "LOVE" and the measuring cup. The measuring cut was adhered using foam dots and I added a hot pink heart for a little more texture.
HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT
have you noticed that
Paper Maniac is now

Ordinary to Extraordinary Thank you gifts

Thank you gifts are my all time favorite things to create because I can take something ordinary and make it extraordinary. PRESENTATION shows that you took the time to truly create something from the heart even if it "just" a bottle of water. I thought this would be a fun way to let someone know that you appreciate an otherwise thankless job. Take for example, the security guards of your neighborhood, mail carrier, the school bus driver, cafeteria worker or just someone that brightens your day!! Everyone appreciates being appreciated ;o)
The Strawberries & Sweetness sentiment are part of Unity's 100% Happy stamp set sold at Paper Maniac. LOVE A BARGAIN?? Check out Paper Maniac's Dollar Store which is at the bottom of their side bar. The Heart Patterened Paper is by Sassafras Lass and you can purchase a 6"x6" pad with 24 double sided sheets for only $1.49.

100% Fun - Unity Retail Store Exclusive

Yesterday Paper Maniac introduced me as their "Charter" Guest Design Team member for the next two weeks. I'm telling you, I could not have felt more welcome. If you missed seeing my name "in lights" check it out ----> HERE
Today marks my official start and the Paper Maniac Design Team's theme for this week is "THANK YOU". My project may not look like the traditional thank you card, however, it is indeed a very special thank you card. Friday night a friend of ours took my son to play Paintball and then out to dinner for a little male bonding time. What a treat this was for an 11 year old boy and a much needed break for a tired mom. That ferris wheel was what caused me to NEED this Unity stamp set (100% Happy). I have seen so many amazing projects with this set which is a retail store exclusive meaning that it can NOT be purchased at Unity, however it is available at Paper Maniac. The FUN sentiment is also included in the set. The VIP pass was cut from a piece of Jillybean Patterned Paper which is two sided. One side of the paper is brown with little white flowers and the other is loaded with fun tags & sentiments.

Do you know any Military members or their families serving overseas? Paper Maniac is offering free shipping to APO/FPO mailing address with a $40 purchase or more for the entire month of October. Help me spread the word and tell them to use the this promotional code when checking out = SUPPORT
