Prior to heading to the USA, I did get to make a few cards so I would be able to keep up with my blog and all of my "FRIENDS" while on holiday. Unfortunately, time for the computer w/out the house search has been few and far between.
This card was created for my husband using one of the amazing Vintage Images that you can find at VINTAGE IMAGE CRAFTS... (btw, many of the images are FREE but if you want MORE FREE images, sign up for their newsletter). I printed the image twice. One I simply cut into a rectangle, the other I cut using Nesties Label One which I layered on top of the first using thin foam squares.
I'm adding several photos 1. because I really like the way this turned out 2. so that you can see some of the details & techniquest that I used, including distressing the edges, inking the edges then going back & used a white or cream ink to ink over the dark ink. Below the main image, I used a larger piece of cardstock that I die cut using the same die but this time I embossed then inked the raised portions to highlight the designs.
Obviously I have created this to be an Easel but I love how fun the bottom portion is and then the fun continues into the inside of the card.. Speaking of the bottom, the hearts were created with the Martha Stewart Heart Doily Punch but if you look closely, you can see that I chose one of the Fancy Stitches to sew across that.
