My Sassy Dust Collector

When I saw ---> THIS CHALLENGE <--- at the Moxie Fab blog, I knew that was going to be a FUN project and I wanted in on the action... The title of the challenge is "Let's Get Sassy - The Taintor-tude Challenge". Anne Taintor is the gal behind so many of the fun retro 50's images with super fun sentiments (click on her name to check out her web-site).

Anyhow, the first of 3 projects that I created was a fun dust collector for some lucky recipient's kitchen. Perhaps we'll call it a "Recipe Card Holder".
How perfect is this Cooking Fairy image? Look closer at the fridge to see the "Appointment" which reads --- "Cooking Fairy arrives at 5:00"!
That little note was the inspiration for my project and ultimately why I created these fun "Appointment Tags"
The base of my project is a large wood clothespin that I painted white
then hot glued strips of magnet across the back.
Other Challenges I used:
Creative Belli Challenge: Ribbon
Cooking It Up with Katie: Home (create something with a home theme)
...........Supplies I used............
Images: Crafty Secrets (domestic goddess creative scraps)
Sentiments on tags & in the metal frame: computer generated
Paper: Stampin Up (whisper white, bermuda bay)
Patterned Papers: My Minds Eye, Bo Bunny (red gingham)
Tools: Martha Stewart (heart doily border punch), Stampin Up (tag dies, tag punch), hotglue gun, Spellbinders (Nestabilities scalloped rectangle), Singer Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug
Misc: Paper Trey Ink (buttons, lemon tart stitched ribbon), Stampin Up (small brown clip, vanilla metal frame with mini brads, foam squares), white embroidery floss, magnet tape, white acrylic paint, large wood clothes pin

This is AWESOME!!! I just spent over half an hour catching up on your blog. We need to talk and get caught up. This year has been crazy. I can't even remember the last time we talked, but I haven't had a chance to even go blog surfing since early January. I took a break from almost everything for a few months and am slowly starting to resurface. Anyway, I am so happy to see Dave is home safely. What are you doing on the mainland though? I tried e-mailing you last week and realized that you were one of the many casualties of Dean's handiwork on the computer (somehow deleting the majority of my contact list - I'm not even sure I know how to do that!! LOL). Anyway, e-mail me. I might try to call you tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I still have your number in my phone, but I think that might be where he deleted contacts - my phone is smarter than I am and is somehow synced to my computer. Anyway, I'd really like to catch up. Regardless, e-mail me so I can get your e-mail address again!!
