Just Hatched Easter Box

Yesterday, I focused my creative energies on actually mailing out my Easter cards, which meant I had to sit and write notes. Can't I just send them out blank??  I am relieved to know that I am not the only stamper who has this problem. I was viewing Lauren Meader's blog and she made the comment that she had actually mailed one of her cards, something she rarely does!!! Thanks Lauren for letting me know I am not the only one.
I finally decided to tackle altering the little egg box that I had purchased from PTI.  I had a hard time finding items small enough to fit in the plastic easter eggs I had purchased. Obviously I didn't find anything small enough so I improvised because I really liked the idea of having the eggs inside the box to pull together the "Just Hatched" theme.
I started out by painting the box using acrylic paint. I was impressed with how easily the paint took to the chip board and how smooth the finished textured was. It takes alot of paint!!! I think the next one I will try spray painting it.  I am all about things being faster. Poor ADHD lady sitting there waiting for paint to dry ;o)
Next, I actually lined the inside of the box with designer paper.  Perhaps I should have taken a photo of that prior to filling the box?  The inside bottom of the boxes paper is the same as the paper on the outside. The sides are a pink houndstooth, as well as, the inside lid.
Third, I cut strips of the paper 3 1/2" wide and stitched the sides with my sewing machine. I adhered these to the outside of the box along with the pink striped ribbon. (If anyone spots this ribbon, please grab me MORE, I used it all).
For the pink oval I used my Cricut and the scalloped oval was punched with the pink Marvy Uchida scalloped oval.   The stamped sentiment is mounted using dimensionals and the bow is adhered with permanent glue.
I plan on creating more of these boxes with a baby theme, let me know what you think.

This is absolutely GORGEous!!!! I'm kinda scared to order this and not get it done, but your project is insp8iring!
Thanks for your kid comments at "paperfix".
You asked how the copics are going. I think I need a class even though there are tons of tutorials out there. I'm in Gina K's copic share. They really are beautiful markers.
I also have to let you know that my house is in no way "clean". It's a dream, but I'm not there :).
Your "stampin room a.k.a hall" closet has me crackin' up!!!
