Whew, just had to pull myself away from "Blog Land". Isn't Google Reader the best thing ever? Thank you Lynn Mercurio for introducing me to that wonderful little resource. I swear I could sit here full time and just drool over all of the wonderful creations and yummy blog candy that everyone has to offer.....
Speaking of Yummy, this is my newest "My Cute Stamps" set (Sweet Chocolate which just happens to be on sale for $11.04 over at ABC). I used the Wednesday Sketch from Split Coast Stampers (here). Seemed simple enough but I spent more time picking out which colors and where to put them, than I actually did coloring this image. After stamping the ice cream onto white CS, I stamped the top portion again onto DP, cut it out, then colored that using Copics. I started out adding just a little Angle Wingz Shimmerz to the highlighted areas, then I painted the entire top portion with Pink Shimmerz, hmmmmm, it was still missing that extra pizazz that I had envisioned this Sweet Treat to have, so I added some glue and Dazzling Diamonds, Now we're talkin Yummy.. I was then able to attach the top with foam squares. You probably can't see unless you click on the image, but I used a light pink ink and stamped a cute little chocolate chip as a background for my ice cream cone.
The little bows were punched with a Martha Stewart craft punch and pearl Bella Baubles glued to the centers. I am forcing myself to "Finish" my cards. I usually do the fronts and consider myself done, however, that can become very time consuming when I need a card. I then must finish the inside, stamp and sign the back and since presentation is everything, I then create a matching envelope. Here is the inside of this card, ALL FINISHED.
This is the same DP that I used to stamp my Ice Cream top on, only this time, I stamped in a light pink and added a few highlights and the Happy Birthday sentiment........... No Envelope but I'm getting better.
Are you ready to try a sketch challenge?? Check back right here tomorrow for the Twisted Thursday Sketch Challenge where there is always at least one Lucky Person that will WIN A FREE STAMP from Shirley's 2 Girls.
