ABOUT MY CARD: Since I am stateside at the moment, I will be brief.

This bear image by is one of my favorites by Stampabilities (party preparations bear). Each time I play with him, I find a different way to accent that big balloon, not to mention, coloring him is so much fun. Perhaps it is his wispy little fur or how the areas to be shaded are designed into the image that camouflage any coloring imperfections. I dunno, I just know I love him. I LOVE me some buttons! I used Paper Trey Ink buttons, HOWEVER, I see that ABC has the matching buttons for the Basic Grey Lemonade paper I used. Rather than use them for my balloon, I placed them down the side of my card and used glossy accents over the colored balloon. I was so pleased with myself for FINALLY using those fun little metal pieces with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment. Just one of the many items I love to HOARD!!! Crafty Creations: Stitching (I did this all around the edges)
Saturday Spotlight: Messy (I distressed the edges using my fingernail and also inked the edges of my main image then lightly sponged ink around the bear)

Big Buttons = Perfect Balloons

This Bear by Stampabilities (available HERE) just might be my favorite stamp. He/she was also one of the reason that I spent a jillion dollars on buttons & ribbon in the first place. Whatevah!! I am slowly getting over the trauma because WOW, is that not the PERFECT embellishment for this little sweety or what? I created this card using Sunday's challenge over on SCS where the challenge was to case a card from the gallery of Shannan Steubner (one of the Verve Divas).... HERE is the card I cased.

My project of the day features a stamp line that I have been seeing around Blog Land and have finally gotten my inky little hands on. Meet "Gruffies" Party Preparation Bear by Stampabilities. If you are new to Copic coloring then these little cuties would be a great place to start. The image measures 5"x3" and notice how the areas to be shadowed have little dots to indicate darker coloring. One of these days maybe I will be skilled enough in my Copic Coloring to photograph the stacked up markers that I have used, however, most of the time I use just about every color that I own in an attempt to shade correctly. Not the case with this image, Yippee!!! Here are the colors I used (BEAR = E37, E35, E33 & E53), (PARTY HAT = YG67, YG63 YG11), (BLUE HORN = B97 & 0 blender), (YELLOW HORN = YR23, YR20) and I shadowed using W-1 along with the blender pen...... Rather than color his balloon, I found a fun little chipboard by ATD (does anyone know what that stands for??) ........... "Wish Big" sentiment is from the Penny Black "Micey Day" stamp set.
