This OLD MAN...........

This "OLD MAN"
he played six, he played knick knack with some stix
with a Knick Knack paddy wack
give the dog a bone
this OLD MAN came rolling ("stumbling") home

Does anyone else remember that or did I just show my age?

MOXIE FAB is hosting a "Stamping with Markers Challenge" and I am hoping to WIN the new "E" set of Copics. Want to play along? You have until March 16

This old man from "You Know You're Old When" by Gina K Designs is one of the funnest stamp sets to color with my Copic Markers. I have so much fun shading, highlighting and making their wrinkles look as realistic as possible.

I wish I had taken a photo of the fun beer assortment that I put together for this gift; they had some fun labels. I'm not a beer drinker but my recipient loves Beer so I hope this is the perfect gift

Takin out the Stash Tuesday

Takin' out the Stash Tuesday
is all about
using those items that we tend to
HOARD
or
just COLLECT but never actually USE

Believe it or not, every single item that is in this fun little gift was part of "My Stash". Yes the bath salts, the little bottle that the bath salts are in, the body scrubber and even the candle. I have a shelf where I keep my alterable items or items that could be used to fill the little boxes that I am so in love with creating. This stamp set by My Favorite Things (Girls Day In) was the reason that I started keeping the fun little toiletries from various hotels I have stayed in. Generally I don't usually need them, however, I have always been fascinated with keeping them. David is the one who is constantly traveling, even flying first class (they give out the coolest cosmetic bags filled with wonderful treasures) so he gets a kick out of bringing me these fun little things.

The cocktail/birthday party I attended Saturday night requested that I not bring a gift, I couldn't resist. Surely they meant store bought gifts right? HMMM maybe not because the hostess certainly plucked this out of my hands before I could even enter the residence and give it to the birthday girl. Guess I'll never get accused of NOT being a Rebel (if I followed all the rules all of the time, life would be so boring)....

So what else was I hoarding in my Stash of Goodies??? Patterned paper, Buttons, rhinestone brads, prima flowers, felt flowers, ribbon, and stickers. I used Copic Markers to color her legs, stool, chest, hands, and glass of vino. Her bathrobe was paper pieced and so was the chair, however the chair pieces I ran through the Cuttlebug using the Textile embossing folder to give it a more realistic appearance. I created the wallpaper by using two very small stamps from Paper Trey Ink and then went back and added teeny dots. I stamped and cut out the gift tag. After stamping the empty bottle, I added dots to look like bath salts then used a lighter marker to shade and blend. I also colored the bottle lide to look like cork. The bottle of bath salts has two stickers on it. One is on the top of the lid and says "bath salts", the one around the front says "Take time for you". The little leaf sprig was just lying about my craft table so I added that and decided it added a nice little flair. The sides of my box were created using the curly label Sizzix die. The handle is just a strip of brown cardstock that I added some self adhesive Martha Stewart ribbon to then attached using layered flowers which are held in place with yellow rhinestone brads.

So glad that you stopped by today and so far this week my posts seem to be about the gift of Friendship. REMINDERS:

"Scrappy" little treat box & a CRAZY Party Hat

Lauren Meader's My Time to Create Inspiration challenge was my inspiration for this color combination. Check out her challenge HERE
Today, As I was playing around with the smallest pieces of scrap DP in my "Studio" (aka: the closet), it dawned on me that I needed to "Talk Stash"........ So here it is.
I pulled out all the stops on these..... Started out creating the fun little treat box (have I told ya'll how much I love to create treat boxes?) Forgive me if someone else has beat me to this fantabulous idea, but I find it very intriguing to create my boxes using die cuts. For Today, I was experimenting with the large Stampin Up label. (I think I should do a tutorial on this process later)....
Once again, I have reached for the My Cute Stamps "Royal Celebration" from ABC Toys & Crafts.. This little castle just screams to be paper pieced and that is where I really used little pieces of "Trash"!!! Just look at the way that little fantasy house is constructed. The pillars and mid section are mounted up on foam squares, Windows and doors were given a little shadow with Copics. I then decided to add some glossy accents to the windows.... OOOOOOO AAAAAAA, Can you even imagine how small the piece of scrap was for that little flag??
The Tags were cut using the Cricut and the only cartridge that my cheap rear owns!, I stamped the tag, the handle & the sides of my box using some of the smaller stamps included in this set. The handle was a strip of CS that I stamped then used a border punch down both sides and glued in place.
Since we are talkin' "SCRAP", check out the Birthday card that I threw together for my hubbie.

As of today, he has been gone one week. He is in Afghanistan with his team of guys. I was putting together a "BIRTHDAY PARTY IN A BOX" and really wanted to add Party hats along with the "My Little Pony" party supplies but there just wasn't room!! Darn the luck... So this card was completely created using scraps that were lying about, yes even the base!!!
I've arranged with a couple guys on his detachment to intercept this package and set up his Party ahead of time and then Suprise him. His party is complete with microwavable cakes, candles that play music, Gatorade packets, coffee, tablecloth, napkins, chips, & what party would be complete without FAVORS?? The guys will look so cute playing with their bright colored parachute dudes and paddle balls........

Are ya still with me?? There is still TIME to COMPLETE your Sketch challenge projects for TWISTED THURSDAY.......... As of today, you have a 1 in 15 chance of winning a new stamp set... Not bad odds... Scroll down to the Twisted Thursday #20 post for complete details
See ya tomorrow

Hippy Chic Gift bag Tutorial

This is my final project for the Shirley's 2 Girls Sneak Peek Week. Look Closely and you can see that the Pocket is Functional and could be used to give a gift card.
Recycled a shirt (can't say that it is old because it was never worn ;o(
Recycled a Denim clothing tag that came on a pair of jeans. This also shows that I first Stamped my Images, Colored with Copics, The clouds have Shimmerz on them for a little more pizazz. Next, I Cut them out, Lined the Image with cloth from the Shirt, and Stitched them directly onto the Denim Tag.

My pocket was really just a rectangle piece of DP. I didn't have anything that I could cut up so I made my own by looking at a pair of jeans for inspiration. I used straight stitches but did not stitch the pocket onto bag. I Zig Zag Stitched another Rainbow image onto the top of the pocket then used double sided sticky tape to adhere the pocket onto the bag.

I only had a cream colored thread, which is NOT the color used to sew jeans.... SOOO I used the pointy tip of Copic YR 23 and touched every single stitch. Actually goes pretty quick and takes the lightest touch because the ink spreads.

This photo shows the white Shimmerz along with different layers of paper and my crazy stitches which was done on purpose so that if I did mess up, it wouldn't be noticed ;o)
The M's are black velvet chipboard letters. The designs were white (exactly like those black & white, velvet posters that you can purchase & color in using markers which is what I did!!) Peace Sign & Hippy Smiley Face are some of the new Inchie Stamps that S2Gs will be releasing tonight.

I added one of the Funky Felt Buttons that S2G carries, some yellow Rik Rak and FINITO

Running unbelievably later than expected but I have tons more fun cooked up for next week with FREE STAMP GIVEAWAYs EVERYDAY.....
